Digital Futures for a Smart Europe: A Feasibility Study on Digital
Europe stands at a pivotal moment in shaping its digital future. The world is undergoing a profound digital transformation, driven by rapid advancements in technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, cloud computing, and green innovations. These changes are fundamentally reshaping how societies work, learn, communicate, and innovate – creating new pathways to accelerate inclusive economic growth, enhance resilience to global disruptions, and address pressing sustainability challenges.
Implemented by the UNESCO Office in Venice, the project ‘Digital Futures for a Smart Europe: A Feasibility Study on Digital Transformation and Green Innovation’ aims to support UNESCO Member States in Europe, particularly in South-East Europe and the Mediterranean, in this transformation. It seeks to assess the current state of digital and green innovation ecosystems in 5 countries and to evaluate the feasibility of a future regional initiative.
