Media and its enemies, tomorrow XIX South East Europe Media Forum – Politics
“The enemies of the media and how
to deal with them.” That is the theme of the 19th South East
Europe Media Forum organized by Konrad Adenauer Stiftung,
Central European Initiative (Cei/Ince) and South East Europe
Media Organization (Seemo) and taking place this year in
Chisinau, Moldova, from tomorrow to Nov. 18. Divided into
several panels, the Forum is attended by journalism and
communication experts from various Eastern and Central European
countries, the Balkans and Italy. Among the sections, one is
dedicated to investigative journalism, another to relations
between the media and political power with specific attention to
the situation in Moldova and other Eastern European countries.
Topics that will be covered include what journalism can do to
defend democracy in times of war and how European values in the
media can foster democracy. Finally, the CEI SEEMO Award for
outstanding merits in investigative journalism will be presented
to professional journalists, raffled off by Seemo secretary
general Oliver Vujovic.
